Thank you all for your good luck wishes and prayers!! My presentation went well! The critics were very happy with my project. The criticism they did give was very valid, and things I had taken into consideration. Overall, I’m very happy :)
Your tumblr has become much too serious lately, so I'll ask the burning question: Who wins in a fight between an anteater and a beaver?
I would have to go with a beaver. Neither are very aggressive, except when it comes to territories. The beavers strength seems to outdo the anteater who commonly sits on its opponents. The beaver has a wicked tail, I don’t think the sloth-like anteater stands a chance against it.
What kind of project are you working on for the next 2 days?
I’m working on my thesis. It’s basically the summation of our 5 years of architecture education. We are given the opportunity to create any building, no matter the building program as long as it has a net square footage between 40,000-80,000 sq. ft. Mine is 125,000 sq. ft. I have chosen to redesign a factory in the classical language in Hart, Michigan. It’s a food processing plant that is thriving, however the building is not. Hart has an unemployment rate of 16%, almost double the rate of Michigan as a whole. In celebration of the 25th anniversary of the plant, and the quadrupling profits in the last 8 years, my design should give hope for a continual increase in profits as well as jobs. The factory will now have a life span of 100+ years as opposed to the 10-25 years corrugated metal allows. The plant will also have the ability to be completely naturally lit as well as naturally ventilated decreasing the overall use of electricity. I have chosen to tear down the old factory as well, and put in place an open air farmer’s market. Anyway… I should be scanning in pictures soon and putting them up!!
I was extremely tempted to ignore this question, quite honestly. I believe everyone is a product of his or her environment. That being said, I also believe it is up to the individual to make something of his/herself. I would never use that word, nor judge someone by the color of their skin. There are as many shameful and disrespectful people in every race, just as there are upstanding individuals of every race. Regardless of this all, it is not my place to judge anyone. We are all born with good in our hearts and I do enjoy trying to see that in everyone.
How do your parents feel about the tats? I won't judge them whichever way you answer goes :)
I’m about to graduate from Notre Dame, having taken nearly 18+ credit hours every semester for five years, including when I played soccer my freshman year, also while holding a job, sometimes even two jobs. Do you really think they care about three small tattoos that no one can even see? No, sir. Not one bit. They love me through and through. Haha, my family doesn’t judge. Ever. I’ve been brought up in the most delightful and accepting manner, and I am so thakful for my parents. In my mom’s eyes, if our grades are good, and we have a job, we are free to do as we please (within reason of course, not that I could dream of doing anything bad in the first place haha…) So, to answer your question, my parents do not care.
do you have any tats? what and where is it? picture?
I have three. A sailboat on the outside of my hip to symbolize my two favorite quotes, “A smooth sea never a made a skilled sailor,” and “You can’t change the direction of the wind, but you can adjust your sails.” I also have R.E.A.L. on my rib cage for my family, Rick, Evan, Annie, and Lindsey. Lastly, I have a white peace sign behind my ear, to keep my mind at peace about/for my sister, Lindsey.
Got on facebook to procrastinate for a few minutes and I read a fellow arkies status saying ‘One week until thesis is due, heaven help us.’ I started looking for the reblog button. Really cool, Tumblr. Really cool.
